Character Breakdowns

OTIS (53) — lead, male, grizzled, heavy-set, weathered, “seen it all.” He’s been there and back and everywhere in between and at the moment, he’s caught in a tough spot. Best friend to Flynn.

CURTIS (41) — lead, male, tall, lean, even lanky. A bit naive on the surface but ultimately kind-hearted and almost Zen-like in his approach to life. Must have a great English accent (or a terrible but confident one). Best friend to Stubbs. THIS ROLE IS CAST.

FRENCHIE (40’s) — supporting, female, sinewy, hawkish, suspicious of everyone. Landlady to Stubbs and Flynn. She’s been burned by everyone and she’s not about to let it happen again, but underneath her rough exterior lives a soft heart (if you’re willing to work that hard to find it).

WOMAN / FEMALE HOSTESS / AUGUSTA (30’s) — supporting, female, slim, fresh- faced, with a distinguishing beauty mark a la Marilyn Monroe. Conniving, clever, an accomplished slight-of-hand and small-time actress. Watch out for this one!

PETRUCHIO (30’s) — supporting, male, a (slightly desperate) Shakespeare actor who dreamed of making the big time but is stuck in the 99-seat theater grind.

ACTOR 1 — supporting, male, a Shakespearean actor on stage. 1 scene.

ACTOR 2 — supporting, male or female, a Shakespearean actor or actress on stage. 1 scene.

ACTRESS — supporting, female, a Shakespearean actress on stage. 1 scene.
