Til Duty is Done to host “VetsRock” to offer an assortment of services, career resources and World-Class Entertainment.
Day-long event at Mohegan Sun dedicated to giving thanks to service members, veterans, and military spouses by providing job fair, supportive services, professional sessions and concert.
Til Duty is Done, a nonprofit organization committed to finding jobs and appropriate services for veterans, today announced that it will host “VetsRock” on Nov. 11 to help veterans, service members, and spouses connect with an array of services, career resources, and hiring companies. Til Duty is Done has partnered with “Save-A-Suit” to set up attendees for professional success by outfitting them in work-appropriate attire. Additionally, “Hiring our Heroes” will provide Veterans with career development and national and regional businesses that are actively looking to hire. Since 2012, more than 500,000 veterans have been hired from more than 2,000 companies through the “Hiring Our Heroes” program.
All of these events will take place before the Vets Rock Concert which begins at 7 p.m. This concert will be hosted by Tony Orlando and feature premier artists, to be announced. In addition, the “Wall that Heals”, the half size replica of the Vietnam Wall will be on display at the Mohegan Sun. “Our veterans have dedicated their lives to protecting our country so we can all experience an America that promises freedom and opportunity,” said Justin Nash, founder and chairman, Til Duty is Done. “It’s our responsibility to ensure that these veterans enjoy the same freedoms and opportunities we’ve been given, and we’re so grateful to our partners that help make that possible.”
This “Hiring Our Heroes” event with Vets Rock is conducted in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service, the Connecticut Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the American Legion, Goodwill Industries International, WTNH Channel 8, iHeart Radio and other local organizations. The event is also made possible through the generous support of Mohegan Sun, whose chairman, Kevin Brown, is a retired combat veteran and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
