Event description

Description

During this workshop, high school students will learn what it takes to work in Veterinary Medicine. See a busy small animal practice in action, it's not all kittens and puppies! You will learn about patient care, diagnostic techniques, client communication, and more. Gain insight on challenges within the veterinary field, and what we do to help the pets in our community.

*Note: this workshop is happening two times (March 19 and March 26). Each time will be the same experience. Please only sign up for one.

This workshop is designed specifically for high school students.

SouthCare Animal Medical Center is located in the South Hill region of Spokane, Washington and is a locally owned and operated, full-service veterinary hospital serving the needs of dogs, cats, and pockets pets. In addition to providing general and emergency care services, we are dedicated to offering multimodal pain management, including therapeutic laser. Other areas of special interest to our doctors include end-of-life/hospice care, palliative care, and consultations.

A portion of our clinic is dedicated solely to the care and comfort of our feline patients. We also regularly volunteer our services and expertise to organizations in our community including Wilderness First Aid for Dogs classes at REI, the Mullan Road Elementary School annual science fair, and food drives for Second Harvest Food Bank.
