The Gala:

Break out the black-tie and prepare for a dazzling patriotic evening at Monterey's premier venue, the $60 million newly renovated Monterey Conference Center. The evening begins with a cocktail reception and hors d’oevures with silent auction items curated specifically for this event. A three course dinner with choice of Rib Eye Steak, Pacific Halibut or Vegan option will be served in the Steinbeck Ballroom, while enjoying the sounds of the Monterey Pops Symphony.

The evening's program will begin with Emcee Norm Hoffmann, Television Meterologist and US Air Force Veteran as he introduces special guest Congressman Jimmy Panetta and patriotic musical performance by the Pops Orchestra to honor and recognize all branches of the United States Military, including the U.S. Coast Guard.

20 Years Serving Veterans:

Recognized as "California Non-Profit of The Year, 2017" by the California Association of Non-Profits. VTC has service 16,000+ Veterans in crisis since it was founded in 1998. VTC does not simply offer short term solutions to homelessness; it strives to give them the tools they need to help themselves.

Fundraising Goals for this event will help meet the gap for Veteran families not included in VA funding, support existing programs and the following projects currently under development:

  • VTC seeks to fully-fund an expanded housing and supportive services program specifically for homeless and at-risk female Veterans and female Veterans with children.

  • Vocational Training Center to provide job-skills, hands-on training, and certification in a variety of trades located on property currently owned by VTC.

  • Renovation of 58 bed duplexes, housing from the 60’s last refurbished 15 years ago

Sponsorships are a vital element to the success of our fundraising efforts. How can you help? To support our mission we invite you to purchase a ticket to attend and consider sponsoring a Veteran to attend. Event sponsorship packages include a unique VIP Meet & Greet opportunty. For more information contact Tracey Love, tlove@vtcmonterey.org or 831.833.8397 ext. 214.

While the Gala is a Black tie event, the evening to break out the bow tie or glam gown, cocktail attire is also well suited. We've given some examples in the event FAQ.. For the fashionable among us, the event's color scheme is navy blue and silver.

What type of Attire is suggested? Answer:

While the Gala is a Black tie event cocktail attire is also well suited. We've given some examples below. For the fashionable among us, the event's color scheme is navy blue and silver.

For ladies we suggest long evening gown for guests comfortable with formal attire, cocktail dress or dressy pantsuit for semi-formal and the always acceptable LBD (little black dress). This is the type of event to embrace the glam if so inclined.

For gentlemen a traditional tux is more formal with dark suit and tie on the semi-formal end of the spectrum.. Black/white bow ties or simple black traditional neck ties fit the bill.
