Veterans Services Available for Elder & Disabled Clients (PA)
Current long-term care trends dictate the need for alternative home and community-based options. Veterans’ benefits are often overlooked. As long-term care professionals, we need to understand the different programs available for Veterans. What are the financial and clinical eligibility requirements for such programs? How can these programs assist our aging Veterans to live the remainder of their lives with privacy, dignity, and independence? The VA system is known as a convoluted, bureaucratic, disjointed, and overwhelming maze. Therefore, this seminar aims to arm participants with the knowledge and power to access this fortress of perceived inaccessibility. Topics covered will include but not be limited to:
- Long-term care trends,
- Federal Veterans benefits,
- Federal disability benefit categories.
- VA nursing homes,
- NJ Veterans homes,
- VA pension benefits,
- VA pension eligibility,
- Net worth requirements,
- VA Aid and Attendance
- housebound programs,
- increased pension.
