Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

We've gotten so much positive reactions on the first edition - so let's have another meetup!

Welcome to the second edition to the Swift Usergroup Netherlands.
The theme for this evening is 'Perfomance'.

After his first appearance Erwin wanted to come back for more - now with a great talk on profiling and debugging your application. We also have Joannis Orlandos who works on the Vapor team. He will talk about async performance. Our third speaker is Samual Goodwin, he runs his own development company Roundwall Software and talks about Core Data Performance.

Erwin Zwart - Debugging performance
Before improving the performance of your application, you first need to understand what the bottlenecks are. How do you identify these bottlenecks and what can you do to improve them? Erwin will show and tell some practical examples on how you can do this yourself.

Joannis Orlandos - Asynchronous programming in Swift
Asynchronous programming is essential for performant applications but can be confusing to use. This presentation will learn you about promises, futures and streams and how to use them effectively (and creatively) to write performant and comprehensible applications.

Samuel Goodwin - Core Data Performance
Core Data can be easy to make more complicated than necessary. With practical examples Samuel will show how it can be simple and how you can determine what you actually need when it's time to make it more complicated.
