Every conservation treatment begins with an investigation: How was the object made? What materials were used to construct it? And what has happened to it since it was created? Join OI conservator Alison Whyte to learn more about the discoveries made during the examination and treatment of OIM A30908, a statuette of Venus with Cupid, currently on display in the OI Museum special exhibition Making Sense of Marbles: Roman Sculpture at the OI (September 15, 2022–March 12, 2023).
