Apply to Present in Venture DC Black Pitch Competition
During Black History Month, the Mayor’s Office of African American Affairs, Department of Employment Services, Deputy Mayor of Greater Economic Opportunity, and Venture DC will host Venture DC Black Pitch Competition, a pitch competition to support, promote and reward emerging African American entrepreneurs with solid businesses or ideas. The competition is open to tech and tech enabled businesses.
The competition will be hosted by Brandon Andrews at Impact Hub DC on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5 to 8 pm. Our goal is to select at least 10 businesses to present across three business segments: idea, early and growth stage businesses.
Pitch competition winners will have access to funds to support a business membership at Impact Hub DC as well as participation at SXSW. Other approved uses may be determined later.
All interested applicants will be pre-screened in advance. Finalists will be chosen to present at the event on the 27th of February.
If you are interested in applying to pitch, please complete the application by February 3rd. Once you have completed the application, then we will contact you to schedule an in-person presentation of your business.
We look forward to working with you and sharing your ideas with the city!
