Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties - Disaster Recovery Public Meeting - CDBG-Mitigation Program

About this Event

The State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is the grantee of $88,219,000 CDBG-MIT funds, allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a result of the October 2017 Wildfires and December 2017 Wildfires, Mudslides, and Debris Flows. HCD is working with local governments and organizations to fund high-impact programs and activities aimed at reducing future losses from natural disasters. At these meetings, HCD will discuss proposed mitigation programs, eligibility for the programs and the timeline for funding.

CDBG-MIT funds can only be expended to implement mitigation activities in, or benefit areas designated as Most Impacted and Distressed areas resulting from:

FEMA DR-4344 October 8 - October 31, 2017 wildfires: Atlas, Canyon II, Cascade, Cherokee, La Porte, Lobo, Patrick, Redwood Complex, Sulphur, and Tubbs.

FEMA DR-4353 December 4 – January 31 2018 wildfires, flooding, mudflows and debris flows resulting from: Thomas, Creek, Rye, Little Mountain, Skirball, Lilac, and Liberty Fires.
