The city, officially founded in 1961, is actually composed of the old town of San Félix at the east and the new town of Puerto Ordaz at the west, which lie either banks of the Caroní and are connected by three bridges. The city stretches 40 kilometers along the south bank of the Orinoco. With approximately one million people, it is a large city by Venezuelan standards. The average temperature is around 20 º C / , but at night can drop to 13 ° C/ . You will see some of the most unique landscapes in the world: harboring many rivers, waterfalls and gorges, deep and vast valleys, impenetrable jungles, savannahs, and amazing plateaus better known as tepuis.

As mentioned above, the Gran Sabana is a park with unique characteristics. The beauty of the landscape is accentuated in the Guiana Shield, the oldest geological formation of the earth. It consists of two main geological formations, an igneous metamorphic age of approximately 2,000 million years and a layer of sedimentary rocks, sandstones of the Roraima formation, deposited makes about 1,700 million years. The average height is about a thousand feet high, but it can vary considerably over short distances: the road of El Dorado to Santa Elena de Uairén is of 200 meters to 1,500 in less than 30 km, in a place called "La Escalera", a raise with a paved street.
After a late lunch, we will transfer back to Ciudad Guayana/ Puerto Ordaz via The Valley of Gold
El Callo is well known for its gold mines and many jewelry shops with lovely charms created by skilled goldsmiths. Orfebrería is the intricate adornment made using gold or other precious metals. This is some of the earliest artistry preserved, as it has been practiced for thousands of years on most continents and often preserved by being buried with the dead or by temple priests. El Callou supports a notable Orfebreria industry of gold jewelry artisans.
