Supervisor Dan Storck invites you to participate in the 3rd Annual Mount Vernon District Environment Expo: Get Outdoors! Learn and Do!

About this event

Supervisor Dan Storck invites you to participate in the 3rd Annual Mount Vernon District Environment Expo: Get Outdoors! Learn and Do! on Saturday, June 26, 2021. The goal of this event is to educate and inform local residents on environmental challenges that we face on a daily basis, including ones that are unique to the Mount Vernon area given our proximity to water and the many industrial facilities nearby. Your organization, group, and/or department are invited to share information with the many local residents who will be attending this summit at Fort Hunt Park, 8999 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria. This year’s event will be held in partnership with the National Park Service.

We want attendees to LEARN, ENGAGE and ACT!

The Expo will run from 8:00 a.m. – noon, featuring an Exhibit Area with a variety of County agencies, service providers and educators, informational and hands-on workshops, live music, electric vehicles, nature walks, Junior Ranger program, touch-a-truck recycling, history tours, purple glass monster, food trucks and more!

We are utilizing this platform for Vendor registration. If you would like to participate in the Exhibit portion of this Environment Expo, you MUST “purchase” a ticket on this site, Eventbrite (free of cost). Please read the information below in its entirety.

The Exhibit Hall will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at noon at Pavilion A in the park. We request that you arrive early, so that you are set up and ready to engage the public when the Exhibit Area opens. In order to facilitate this, event set up will begin at 7:00 a.m. for exhibitors. Exhibitors will have the option of bringing their own tables, chairs and tents (optional) and being in the grassy area near the pavilion or requesting a table with benches under the pavilion (limited number, so please register early). You will be asked to indicate this with your registration. Electricity will not be available at either location. Additionally, digging of holes, including ground disturbance activities such as tent staking are prohibited in the park. The event will be held rain or shine.

The workshop and presentation portion of this event begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and we expect folks to freely move between exhibits, presentations and workshops, so please plan to stay until the event ends. If you must leave early, please let us know in advance.

Based to COVID-19 protocols and restrictions in place on the event date, we reserve the right to request that exhibitors limit personnel at the event and to limit those permitted inside the pavilion. At registration, please indicate how many people you anticipate will be in attendance. We will do our best to notify you in advance if any limitations are required, but due to the changing COVID restrictions, advance notice may not be possible.

If there are any additional questions, please contact Abdul.Shaban@fairfaxcounty.gov.
