Description

How do you plan and plant for the perfect produce...?

There's so much to know- and February is the perfect time to learn so you can get planting.

North Haven Gardens welcomes back experts from Texas A & M to get the best advice in home growing to you. Stephen Hudkins and Jeff Raska are your guides, and fully cover raised beds, lasagna gardening, vegetable planting dates, plus the best varieties for this area. You'll also learn to decipher the recommended fertilization schedule for vegetables, whether you use an organic or a synthetic approach. Plus, it's time to think about tomato transplants- but what about your soil? (And just what the heck is 'lasagna gardening' ?)

Success with vegetables here means knowing how to adapt to our soils and climate. Get a complete look at growing veg at home from the experts--who garden themselves-- in this free class.

Stephen Hudkins, M. S. is the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent for horticulture, and regulary sponsors high-quality programs throughout North Texas with expert speakers to assist homeowners with their landscapes.

Jeff Raska is Program Assistant for Agrilife, and regularly presents programs on sustainable landscaping as well as his extensive experience in raising chickens in an urban environment.

Watch for more free programming from the AgriLife Extension Service of Texas A & M University later this year.
