Thursday, January 30
7:30PM Delivery Boys & Entouräge Reunion (NMC)
Delivery Boys and Entourӓge teams have served and connected with young men and women across the Western United States through humor, worship, and study. This show will feature the antics of both Delivery Boys and Entourӓge alumni, as well as out current Performing Arts Ministry Teams. The hosts for the evening are the talented duo of Emily (Maier '03) Rose and Christopher Tillman '02. Join us for a night of hilarity as we celebrate 25 years of ministry through laughter!

7PM Athletic Hall of Fame (NMC)
Our Vanguard Athletes are Champions of Character and prime examples of Gold Pride. Join us as we recognize alumni and loyal fans who continue to embody that legacy. Dessert and coffee will be provided. There will be online live streaming of the Athletic Hall of Fame for those who cannot attend the event. This event is FREE with RSVP.

Come register and sign in for Homecoming weekend and enjoy coffee and muffins to start your day of exciting events with family and friends!
10AM 5K Run for Mercy – Benefiting Candace (Wong ’02) Segrove & Family (Campus)
Come enjoy a fun run, walk, jog or skip to support the Segrove family! Currently located in San Francisco, 2-year-old Edmond Segrove, son to Adonis and Candace (Wong ’02) Segrove, suffers from a rare brain disorder called “lissencephaly” which he was diagnosed with just less than three months after he was born. Edmond suffers from muscle spasms, seizures and difficulty swallowing. This has brought on an immense emotional and financial burden on the Segrove family, which is why we want to help raise money so that Edmond can receive the medical attention he needs. The cost for the 5K is $15. We are also offering the option of a donation if you would like to give additionally to benefit the Segrove family. Rain or shine there will be no refunds.
11AM Homecoming Celebration Party (Campus Mall)
Upon finishing your 5K, join us for a meet and greet with the Segrove family, live music, Kid Zone, and an In-N-Out Truck! The In-N-Out Truck will cost $5 for both adults and kids.
1PM Girl Rising (Heath 109)
Girl Rising is a groundbreaking feature film about the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to transform societies. The film uses powerful storytelling to deliver a simple, critical truth: Educate Girls and you will Change the World. Watch the trailer today and make sure to join us for this incredible opportunity! This is a FREE event. After the screening, a panel discussion will be held to discuss points from the film and the power of education in the lives of girls worldwide.
1PM Basketball Camp (The Pit)
The Vanguard University Men’s Basketball program will host this free, one hour clinic. The clinic will take place in “The Pit”, the legendary gym on Vanguard’s campus. The Men’s Basketball coaching staff, as well as a handful of current Vanguard Lions, will coach and train boys and girls ages 6-15.
1PM 1984 Class Reunion (Great Commision Hall)
We will be hosting a 30 year reunion for all 1984 Vanguard Alumni. Stop by on Saturday afternoon for refreshments and mingling with your fellow classmates! This event is FREE with RSVP.
3PM Alumni Awards Chapel (Needham Chapel)
Come enjoy the Homecoming Alumni Awards Chapel, where we will enjoy the sounds of the Vanguard Singers & Band and honor our awardees of 2014:
Alumnus of the Year: Tommy Casarez '94
Dr. Tommy Ayala Casarez is the president of Latin American Bible Institute and Latin American Theological Seminary (LATS), a position he has held since 2010. During his tenure, LABI has made major campus renovations, reached its highest graduating class, hired world-class faculty and earned a reputation as one of the nation’s best two year junior Bible colleges. With degrees from Vanguard, Fuller Seminary, Yale, and Princeton, Dr. Casarez is well equipped and positioned to lead LABI into the future.
Career Achievement Award: Dennis Lindsay ‘69
Dr. Dennis Gordon Lindsay is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Christ For The Nations, Inc., a worldwide missions organization and Bible Institute headquartered in Dallas, TX. He is the youngest son of the late Gordon Lindsay, founder of Christ For The Nations, and Freda Lindsay, co-founder.
Distinguished Service Award: Dan Myers ‘57
Dr. Dan Myers graduated from Vanguard University (then Southern California College) in 1957. He went on to complete his MDiv from American Baptist Seminary and Ph.D. from California Graduate School of Theology. He spent the first half of his career as a senior pastor, and in the second half, founded Master Plan Ministries, an organization that has helped churches fundraise over $500,000,000 toward construction, debt reduction, and mission work.
Young Alumna of the Year: Tina Ramirez ‘99, MA '01
Tina Ramirez is the President and Founder of Hardwired, Inc., a non-profit organization bringing hope to those under religious oppression by advancing religious freedom in law and policy worldwide. Hardwired is using a new paradigm to create a grassroots movement to inspire the next generation of religious freedom advocates.
The Golden Vanguard Society (Alumni from 1920-1963) will also be recognized, and the Class of 1964 will be inducted by President Mike Beals as new GVS members.
5PM Pre-Game Dinner (The Caf)
Come enjoy dinner in the Caf! Dinner will cost $8 for both adults and kids.
5:30PM & 7:30PM Women & Men’s Basketball vs. Hope International University (The Pit)
Cheer on our Vanguard Lions as we challenge Hope International University! Vanguard Concert Choir will be singing the National Anthem and the Alumni Upperdeck will be open during both games.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 kids; CASH only. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
