Vanberg & DeWulf's Annual Coast to Coast Toast
Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 12:00 AM - Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00 AM
On November 15, 2012 (King's Day in Belgium), the best specialty beer-centric bars, restaurants, and stores across the nation will be raising a glass to celebrate Vanberg & DeWulf's birthday and the great state of craft and specialty beer culture in the US of A. On this day the most progressive, idiosyncratic, and wonderful retailers and publicans join hands, and we salute them (i.e. you!).
Last year, the 1st annual Coast to Coast Toast became the single largest one day celebration of Belgian beer culture in the United States in this millennium (good thing the millenium is young). We're committed to making this year's party even bigger. We're ready to party - are you?
If you are interested in joining the illustrious coterie of Coast to Coast Toast Hosts, please sign up on this Eventbrite page so that the general public knows you're in and we can send you regular updates between now and mid-November to help you organize, promote, and receive credit for the amazing work you are doing.

Help Friends in Need
We are dedicating this year's Coast to Coast Toast to our friends in the path of the storm. Many of the hosts around the country are generously setting aside proceeds from the party for disaster relief. We salute their kindness. If you can, we urge you to make a donation to a relief effort.
All C2CT2 parties will go on in all markets as scheduled on November 15th - except in New York City. In the 5 boroughs of New York, we have jointly taken the decision to postpone the celebrations for 2 months, until January 15th. By all means, if you can, support the C2CT2 host businesses: as NY Times writer Peter Wells has elucidated, all our NYC hosts need your patronage and encouragement.
We estimate that a third of our NY accounts have suffered damage and about 20% of our New Jersey venues are still closed. Our friend Jimmy Carbone, of NYC-based Jimmy's No. 43 has a great suggestion: to help bars, restaurants, and stores get back on their feet, you can purchase a gift certificate as a holiday gift for a friend at any place affected by Sandy. This will get them much needed cash to put their houses back in order. We will be talking with Jimmy more about this on Beer Sessions Radio on Tuesday, November 13, at 5:15 EST. Check out their site and call in with suggestions.
Here are ways to help:
The Red Cross has been operating shelters and offering food, water and relief supplies to areas struck hard by Sandy. To donate to the Red Cross online, go to redcross.org. You can also mail a check to:
The American Red Cross
P.O. Box 37243

To donate by phone, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or give up to $10 by texting the word "REDCROSS" to 90999.
The Salvation Army has received over $3 million in donations. Use this link to donate online. You can also donate over the phone by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
Feeding America has brought in almost $1 million to help support food banks in affected areas. Use their site to find a local food bank and other ways to get involved.

Vanberg & DeWulf
WHO IS VANBERG & DEWULF?
The Vanberg & DeWulf seal encircles twenty-five distinct beer styles from thirteen breweries in five nations. We remain dedicated to careful research and meticulous editing so that we only bring you beers we believe worth your time and money. As always, they all come from independent, family-run breweries. We were the first company to be dedicated to importing Belgian beers to the USA—starting 32 years ago. The co-founders, Wendy Littlefield and Don Feinberg were the first Americans inducted into the Belgian Brewers’ Guild.
