Description

Skills, values and story cards developed in Collaboration with Young People - official launch

We are excited to invite you to the launch of a new and necessary resource: skills, values and story cards, created and developed by students from Miller High School and Birrong Boys High School.

These cards are the first Muslim youth-appropriate cards developed in Australia, and can be used in many capacities; whether in a therapeutic, group or educational setting. Such a resource is long over-due for professionals who wish to engage with Muslim young people in a meaningful, respectful and hopeful manner.

The cards include beautiful illustrations and words that will prompt important conversations and discussions about the values and skills of Muslim young people living and growing up in Australia today.

These cards depict and promote alternative identities and narratives about our Muslim young people – narratives that strengthen and inspire them.

These cards recognise shared struggles and challenges, shared hopes and skills, with the goal of responding collectively and in solidarity, with other young people experiencing similar issues.

This project is a partnership between the Dulwich Centre foundation and Bankstown Youth Development Service . We hope you can join us at this very important launch.

Please book your ticket through Eventbrite or RSVP by email info@byds.org.au by 21st September 2017.

A light lunch will be provided between 12pm-12:30 pm
