About this event
Written by locally renowned author, playwright and columnist, Emory Jones, and directed by Piedmont University's Kathy Blandin, Valley Voices--Stories from Hardman Farm, is a journey through over 150 years of the Nacoochee Valley. From its original Native American traditions to the first settlers and the three families who called Hardman Farm home you'll discover the stories this land holds dear. A collaboration between Hardman Farm's volunteer organization, The Friends of Hardman Farm, and Piedmont University's North Georgia Theatre, this outdoor drama brings the farm and its rich history to life.
The event will play host to a trifecta of performances beginning with live music from Debbie Lee Welchel and continuing with "Doc Johnson's Travelling Miracle Medicine show, a magic show typical of the late nineteenth century. The presentation of Valley Voices will round out the event.
On Thursday, June 2, Friday, June 3 and Saturday June 4, gates will open at 5pm. Guests are encouraged to come early to grab a bite to eat from a local food truck and a brew from Tantrum Brewing Co. and picnic on the grounds. The site's 19 outbuildings, including the impressive 100+ year-old dairy barn will be open for patrons to explore, and guests will be able to interact with the families of the farm.
Gates will open at 11:30 am for Sunday June 5th's, 2pm Matinee. Guests can again enjoy the outbuildings and interacting with the cast before the show, but are encouraged to bring their own picnic; there will not be a food truck for the matinee.
Bring your own lawn chair. Please do not bring pets due to horses and gunfire in the play.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 6:45 pm. Gates open at 5pm.
Sunday matinee begins at 1:15 pm. Gates open at 11:30 am.
Tickets are $20+ tax and fees. Children 5 and under are free.
