Thirty-seven acres along the Little Miami River in southwest Ohio offer a tranquil refuge where you can refresh your life in the silent support of a sangha, or practice community. Join Karen Maezen Miller in a Zen retreat for all levels of practitioners: includes sitting, chanting, walking meditation, Dharma talks and the opportunity to meet privately with a teacher. Three nights, all meals included.
The Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford is located 30 miles east of Cincinnati. The park-like setting includes a labyrinth for walking meditation, a prayer grove and paved walking paths through lawns and gardens. All faiths and traditions are welcomed to this oasis of calm.
All overnight rooms are singles and most have hallway bathrooms and showers. A limited number of single rooms with private baths are available on a first-come basis.
Please bring your own zafu or sitting bench along with a zabuton or folded blanket to place under you while you sit. Chairs are provided. Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing suitable for sitting on the floor and easy on-and-off shoes.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Bring your own zafu or sitting bench; zabuton or folded quilt to sit on; practice clothing; toiletries; clothes for walking to and from hallway showers; and all-weather outerwear. Please leave unnecessary electronics at home.
Is there a vegetarian meal option?
All meals will be vegetarian. If you require a gluten-free diet, you will have the option to request that during the registration process.
What is the refund policy?
Reservations are refundable with two months' advance notice. Please delay your registration until you can commit to attend.
