Event description

Description

Join us at the Oak Street Mansion for a fun and educational wine tasting experience. Scott Finley of Bronco Wine Company will be conducting a blind tasting of wines both domestic and from abroad where tasters will learn how to be better “active tasters.” Most people don’t put much thought into the wines that they put in their mouth, and most stick to wines that they are comfortable and familiar with. All of that goes out the window for this tasting. Scott is going to pick specific wines for the night that will encourage each participant to pay more attention to what is in the glass without being influenced by what they know is in the glass. Blind tasting is the best way to taste wine! We will also cap the night off with a bourbon and Christopher Elbow chocolate pairing!

Along with the wine tasting you will have time to view the art collection at the Oak Street Mansion. The Oak Street Mansion is a art-themed Georgian Revival-style mansion within 5 minutes walk of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kansas City Art Institute and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Each of the seven airy, casual rooms features a different style of art (impressional, Cuban, Abstract, Street Art, etc.) along with gallery space of works from regional artists such as Ross Braught and Charles Wilimovsky.

Bring your sweetheart (or just yourself!) to enjoy this one of kind art collection along with a fun tasting experince!

$30 per person. Tickets include wine and charcuterie accompaniments, and bourbon and Christopher Elbow chocolate pairing.

Pick your favorite wines to take home at 20% off retail costs (tasting night only!) We will also have Christopher Elbow chocolates available for purchase.
