About this event
Our billingual production of the Vagina Monologues is benefiting Latinas y Líderes, a nonprofit organization founded by a mother and daughter from the Bronx that seeks to empower and inspire girls from under-resourced communities in the Dominican Republic.
100% of proceeds raised through ticket sales and donations will be given to Latinas y Líderes and will help fund their leadership and empowerment camp, and help fund shoes, sanitary products, and school supplies for participants, as well as contribute to other empowerment initiatives like mentoring and health programs.
About the play:
The Mami Chula Vagina Monologues is being directed by three-time Tony-nominated director, Zulaika Velazquez. The show is casted by 30 dynamic and diverse women and will invite over 1,000 members of the Washington Heights community and beyond to have a conversation about the state of violence against women in 2020.
