Description

Please join us to learn how to fund and incentivize brownfield revitalization in your community! Maryland's brownfields are an untapped resource waiting to be transformed into vibrant places.

The boot camp is completely FREE and will be hosted by the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy at their artfully redeveloped and adapted brownfield site - the Eastern Shore Conservation Center (ESCC the former McCord Laundry facility) located in downtown Easton. Industry-expert presenters include the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Brownfield Assistance Program, the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, the Maryland Department of Planning, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Power Plant Research Program, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, and Maryland's Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE).

Topics will include grant funding for brownfields, Maryland tax incentives for brownfield redevelopment, Maryland's Voluntary Cleanup Program and how to hire an environmental consultant to assess and clean up your brownfields, how to maximize return on investment through layering Opportunity Zones and brownfield incentives, and solar siting on brownfields.

The boot camp format will feature a brownfield basics in the morning session, followed by a lunch break, and an afternoon of delving deeper into hot topics like solar redevelopment on brownfield sites and tips and tricks for choosing a good consultant for your brownfield project. Come in the morning and stay all day, or learn the basics and be on your way.
Save the Date:
Tuesday, September 24, 2019
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

An hour lunch break will be allotted to encourage attendees to explore the eateries in downtown Easton. Bikes are available to rent from the ESCC.
