The Paris-Roubaix is a one day, pro cycling race event that has been around since 1896, making it one of the oldest “classic” cycling races to take place in the world. This race begins in northern France and finishes on the Belgian frontier. At Paris-Roubaix, every crack tells a story. Every cobble is etched with the prose of races past. Triumph, defeat, broken bones and losses -- it's a story Tom Boonen knows by heart. It's a story, after all, where four chapters start with the words "Tom" and "Boonen." But there are also four chapters beginning with "Roger De Vlaeminck," and no disciple of this race's story can let this stand while they still have a fight left in their legs. This year, for one last time, Tom and his Roubaix will have a go at rewriting Paris-Roubaix's dusty story. This year, they'll aim to make it five.
In honor of this race we will be having a sit down wine tasting featuring different Champagnes from Champagne, France. Split into five regions which are then split further into seventeen sub-regions, Champagne, France’s main grape varietals are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. This region is best known for making the most famous sparkling wine and on average produces about a million bottles of champagne a day! So come join us for a glass, or two, of sparkling wine that will be sure to be a crowd pleaser for all!
Walking in, you arrive at a sit down, interactive, wine tasting during which we provide for tasting six to eight new wines to taste and discuss over the one and a half hour period of time allotted to the class. At these gatherings everyone attending brings their own level of knowledge and experiences, adding to the conversation on the wines, regions, and varietals. All levels of wine lovers are welcome! What brings is all together once every week is simply that we LOVE wine!
