About this Event

The purpose of the VA Mental Health Community Summit 2019 is to bring together key stakeholders in the community with the goal of enhancing access to mental health services and addressing the mental healthcare needs of Service Members, Veterans, and their family members. This year’s Summit is focused on “Get Connected” and will include panel discussions, speakers and presentations, as well as information booths from local and national organizations which have a passion for serving the SMVF Community. We welcome Service Members, Veterans, family members, DoD partners, and representatives of local community groups to join us for this event.

The keynote address will be provided by Mr. John Buckley, Military Relations Manager at Koch Industries and Chairman of the Greater Wichita Area Veterans Advocacy Council. He has identified the seven barriers to transition for military members, which includes the communication cultural gap. He works diligently to reduce the military/ civilian divide and continues to mentor current and former military members on the transition to civilian life.

The event will be located at the First United Methodist Church Meredith Hall, Located at 330 N. Broadway, Wichita Kansas. There is ample parking in the back close to the entrance. Registration is free and lunch is provided at no cost to attendees.
