You’ve got a great product, a great idea, you’re working to improve an already existing product or service. How do you make decisions on what changes to implement and when? How do you justify making those changes to those that hold the purse strings? How do you show results, both quantitative and qualitative? What needs at what time in development take more precedence - business goals or user needs? Your time at this summit will be about making deeper connections with colleagues, influencing students and about gaining meaningful insights into decision making.
These questions and more will be discussed on Saturday, November 21st at Mudd Hall of the USC campus at UX Summit Los Angeles. We’ll examine topics like:

Track 1 - Product Management Vs. UX Workshop
6 Teams | 3 hours | 1 challenge
We’ll give you the opportunity to apply your own insights in a challenge designed for your team to work through business and user needs - you will discuss, debate and ultimately come up with your own solutions to present to a panel of experts for feedback. Your team of 10 will break into 2 groups - a product management group and UX group.
Track 2 - Ideation and Rapid Prototyping Competition
10 ideas | 2 hours | 3 Winning Pitches
You supply the idea (in your registration) or join a team with an idea you’d like to prototype. The top ten ideas will be presented by the ideators and ask you to join their team for a lively prototyping competition. You will present to panel who will vote on the winning idea. The winner’s idea will be workshopped in the 2nd Annual UXSC Design-a-thon in Spring 2016!

Over 15 years in print, web, app, game, product, experience, brand, story, team, and culture design. Creative, empathetic, entrepreneurial, practicing disciplined innovation with child-like curiosity.
Product Manager at Adobe, focused on UX and Web technologies, surfer, Design Thinker and father. Demian is a Product Manager for Project Comet at Adobe San Francisco, with more than 16 years of experience with technology, interactive media, design, business, community engagement and training. Before Adobe, he worked as a Developer Advocate, first for BlackBerry and then Braintree/PayPal, traveling the world to engage with developers and startups. He also ran Action Creations, an interactive agency based in San Diego, designing and developing apps for clients including Oakley, 20th Century Fox, World Surf League, Nike and many more. Demian is committed to the growth of new innovators, has taught design and programming at UCSD, as well as his own training programs focused on Design Thinking and mobile development, reaching hundreds of developers, designers and entrepreneurs. Learning, empathy, innovation and technology drive his work and his personal life.

Parking is available in Lot A for $12 for guests - guest may park above level 2 and there is an elevator. There is also metered parking around the perimeter of USC campus as well as extremely limited metered parking on campus. Park in business parking lots across from campus at your own risk.
