Event description

Description

We all know we should be practicing empathy in our work as designers - it's the way we build understanding of our customers' hopes, fears, ambitions, needs and therefore the way we design better products and services. But if all we're doing is dusting off an empathy map template when we feel we should probably go talk to our customers then are we really doing it right?

In this workshop, Sarah is going to present the case for going beyond the duster approach to one where we develop an empathy habit. In presenting the case, she's going to test five different approaches which we can all use to build our own empathy habit and the empathy of those we work with day to day. Sarah's going to pack a lot into this workshop so come along ready and willing to talk to people, get stuck in and have a go.
