CT UXPA is proud to present our first ever UX Intensive: Usability Fundamentals full day workshop. We are excited to bring Cory Lebson and Jen Romano-Bergstrom up to Connecticut to educate you about Usability best practices and the industry.

Speaker Bios

Cory Lebson

Cory LebsonCory has been a user experience consultant for nearly 20 years. He established Lebsontech LLC in 1997, and in 2008, he transformed this side-business into a full-time occupation. Cory also greatly enjoys teaching topics related to user experience and conducts regular talks and workshops.  He has been featured on the radio and has published several recent articles. Cory has an MBA in marketing and technology management, as well as an MA in sociology and a BS in psychology. He is the former President of the Washington DC chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA), is on the Board of Directors of UXPA International and will soon be the 2014 UXPA International president.


Jen Romano-Bergstrom

Jen Romano-Bergstrom

Jennifer Romano Bergstrom has over 12 years of experience planning, conducting and managing user-centered research projects. She leads the UX Research team at Fors Marsh Group where she leads a variety of user experience studies, including low- medium- and high-fidelity studies with eye tracking on desktop, mobile and paper. In addition to being a skilled UX researcher and practitioner, Jen specializes in experimental design, quantitative analysis and usability for older users.

Jen has presented research at numerous national and International conferences and publishes in peer-reviewed journals. She has peer-reviewed articles in International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, Journal of Usability Studies, Applied Cognitive Psychology, and Memory. She is co-editor of Eye Tracking in User Experience (forthcoming, spring 2014). Jen is President of the DC Chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) and President of the DC Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR).

Jennifer received a Ph.D. and M.A. in Applied/Experimental Psychology from The Catholic University of America and a B.A. in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University.


Mona Patel

 

Mona PatelFor over 15 years, Mona's ability to strategize quickly and customize solutions has set her apart in the industry. Mona started Motivate Design in 2009 and UX Hires in 2011 to create a place where clients could get what they need, rather than what an agency needs to sell. Mona was disrupting before it was cool.

She has delivered user experience strategies and in-house usability programs for hundreds of clients through training and consulting. Mona currently teaches at Parsons The New School for Design, where she focuses on showing students the value of good design research. To balance out her hypersonic speeds, she is a certified yoga instructor and she sleeps.
