Beer, Wine, and UX: Does it get any better?
Thanks to UXTalent, we're excited to announce an upcoming gallery event for all things UX! The purpose of the event is to build awareness within the UX community, while also complimenting the interactive User Experience workshop from earlier in the day.
The happy hour will feature presentations by professionals specializing in four UX disciplines:
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come see the work of other UX designers, what they do, why they do it, and more importantly, how they do it. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to mingle with UX-minded individuals, or just come to see and learn!
George Ishii is best known for his time as the co-founder and head of design at BetterWorks. Before that, George co-founded Yammer (acquired by Microsoft), worked as a UX designer at PayPal, and worked as a software engineer at Adobe Systems. He's spoken at SXSW 2012, UCLA Anderson Business School, and USC Marshall Business School.
Bill DeSmet is currently a UX designer at Ballistic Designs where he calls upon over 20 years of experience in the advertising and design industry to offer unique web design solutions based on branding methodologies.
Ryan Gonzeles is currently the UI/UX designer at Social Control, and has previously served as the creative director at Made, Olympia Media Group, and Swarm Events. Ryan comes from a front-end developer background, but now prides himself on being an end-user focused designer.
Complimentary beer and ONEHOPE wine will be served.
We are happy to be serving wine by ONEHOPE, where 50% of all profits go to partner charities benefiting a variety of causes.
General Assembly is a global network for entrepreneurs seeking opportunity and education in technology, business and design with campuses located in New York City, London, Berlin, San Francisco, Sydney, Boston and now...Los Angeles!
We offer education in a myriad of ways -- from 90-minute classes like New Startup Business Models and half-day workshops on the tactics of fundraising to 10-week courses in front-end web development and user experience design. Why do we do what we do? By providing designers, developers, entrepreneurs and complete beginners with the skills necessary to compete in a technology-driven workplace, GA is closing the gap between the unemployed and the thousands of open jobs and working to solve a generation-defining problem.
UXTalent is a talent agency for User Experience Professionals. We work with some of the biggest brands and fastest growing startups in the world to match talented UXers with their dream jobs.
We understand. UX is still such a young profession that most companies don't really know who they're looking for when they slap that "UX" label in the title of their job post.
We're here to change that. After a combined 12 years on both the hiring and the candidate sides of the equation we know the challenges, and we're working hard to make the process of matching UX professionals with their dream jobs a much better experience.
