Simmons managed content development and speaker planning & engagement for OC3, Oculus' developer conference. Consults with companies including Google, Amtrak, Oculus, Airbnb and others to develop and execute content strategies for conferences, product launches and influencer programs. Managed disasterand diversity communications for the American Red Cross, and worked as a reporter for the Washington Post and the Bureau of National Affairs.
Syed Haris Ali
The author of the popular EZAudio framework
for iOS/MacOS and, most recently, Haris is expanding on his C++ work at Skycatch in the form of a book that goes into detail on how to use C++ to share code across multiple mobile, desktop, and web applications. His specialties include iOS & Android app development, Cross-platform C++ specifically for mobile app development and audio programming.
Assistant Manager Customer Support @ Credit Karma
Has worked in Member Support for 3 years as a specialist, lead and assistant manager, identifying and redesigning UX opportunities. Interfaces daily with Credit Karma members to better understand and advocate for their needs within the product and marketing teams. Now involved with forming Credit Karma's first formal User Experience initiatives. Laura is an alumna of the University of California, San Diego.
Justin Hoffman is an immersive designer with a particular focus on interactive narrative and facilitating cutting edge technology to innovate with user experiences. He has developed websites for Fortune 500 companies, and his UX/UI work is on permanent display internationally.
Rachel Mercy Simpson
After years of working in the film industry, Rachel Mercy Simpson thought she would take a quick break and teach while her son was young. She fell in love with teaching and the wonderful community at Berkeley City College. She instructs classes in video production, reel and portfolio development and leads our internship program.
