Event Details

Looking for skills based volunteering opportunities?  UWIB has partnered with So Others Might Eat (SOME)'s Harvest House, a program that supports formerly homeless women who have struggled with addiction.  While staying at the House, women have access to job training, classes, and other opportunities to help them transition out of the program and stand on their own two feet.

UWIB supports Harvest House by offering computer classes.  Each Tuesday for 6 weeks, we stop by and provide instruction and help the women gain a foundational understanding of computers and key programs used in an office or otherwise administrative setting.  This is an extremely rewarding volunteer opportunity, as many of these women have very limited exposure to computers, internet skills, and email.

In order to be successful, we need your help!  If you are interested, please sign up for a volunteer ticket and we'll get in touch with additional instructions.  If you have any questions, please email Becca Sherman at
