UWB Maker Fest
Fri, April 14, 2017, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM PDT
Welcome to the UW Bothell Maker Fest!
As UW Bothell Makerspace staff, we see all sorts of cool projects being made; things like crazy custom keyboards, large wooden mechanical hands, and laser engraved handles for musical saws! As fellow makers, we wanted to give our users a chance to showcase what they have made. That is why we are hosting a MakerFest at UW Bothell, to give students, staff, faculty, and clubs a venue to show off all of the awesome projects, art, and outreach they have done.
We are working closely with individuals and clubs to host larger, interactive demos and events over the course of the Maker Fest. If you have an idea for a demo or would like to host one yourself please email our staff with some details of what you would like to do here.
Participants will be able to choose between passive or active displays. Passive Displays will involve set up of art or projects with a sandwich board for people to read as they pass by; this will be a gallery style showing. Active displays will involve participants manning a booth from which they will be able to talk about and share their creations with attendees. These displays will be provided with a 2' X 4' table and may or may not have power (see tickets below)
Projects do not need to be finished to register, and working on a project during the event is encouraged so please don’t let your partially completed project prevent you from signing up. Projects can be of an size or scope, but must be school appropriate (no weapons, no open flames, live high-current wires, etc). If you have any concerns or questions about your project, please email our staff here.
Everyone including the greater Bothell community is welcome to attend, but the Maker Fest is intended to highlight the outstanding projects created by members of the UWB campus.
