UVA Club of Washington DC: VA Wine Month Virtual Tasting

The UVA Club of Washington, DC invites all alumni, parents, and friends to join us as we partner with RichWine, a UVA alum-owned business, to bring you a virtual Wine Wednesday wine tasting! The event fee includes your wine kit, with 5 two oz pours of 2 reds, 1 white, 1 orange, and 1 rose wine, as well as shipping (DC and Virginia only). In honor of Virginia Wine Month, we'll enjoy a special wine from Delaplane Cellars, owned by Nick Jordan, UVA alum (CLAS '08). You will also taste wines from Spain, Germany, Italy, and France. You do NOT want to miss this incredible event!

Pricing:

• Early bird pricing: $45 through Wednesday, September 16th
• Regular Pricing: $50 from Thursday, September 17th through Wednesday, September 30th
• Free: watch only (no wine kit)

RichWine was founded by two UVA alums: Kristen Gardner Beal (CLAS '12) and Lance Lemon (CLAS '11). RichWine is a boutique internet wine retailer located in the heart of Richmond Virginia whose purpose is to provide a carefully curated selection of unique, clean farmed wines to new patrons and wine lovers in our community.

Two lucky attendees will win a choice of a Richwine package (includes 2 Richwine Wine Glasses and tee-shirt) or a UVA watercolor (8in X 5in) painting by Jenny Pham (CLAS '17). All attendees will also receive a discount code for a future Richwine purchase!

About Kristen and Lance:

Kristen Gardner Beal is a born and raised Virginia native, founder of VinGo Tours, co-founder of RichWine, and a 2012 graduate of the University of Virginia. Before wine, Kristen worked at the Department of State in Lima, Peru and later transitioned to finance at a global investment bank in New York. She works hard and travels harder, attributing world exploration as the foundation of her love for food, culture, gatherings and wine.

Lance Lemon is a Virginia native, actor, co-founder of Richwine, and a 2011 graduate of the University of Virginia. Lance moved to New York to continue his acting career and bar-tend at Jean Georges ABC Cocina and Kitchen. Cocina soon led him to a role as a wine sales rep for Frederick Wildman and Sons where Lance learned a tremendous amount about wine. He went on to curate, open, and manage two successful wine shops in BedStuy, Brooklyn: Wine - O and Liquid Assets. The experience defined his two life passions: acting and wine.
