Event description
Restoring Civil Discourse In A Divided Time with Authors and Humorists Jeanne Martinet (CLAS '80) and P.J. O'Rourke

About this Event

All alumni, parents, and friends are invited to join the UVA Club of Washington, DC as we engage in a virtual discussion on "Restoring Civil Discourse In a Divided Time."

We'll hear from noted authors and humorists Jeanne Martinet (CLAS '80) and P.J. O’Rourke for a discussion that will address the causes, nature, and potential solutions to the polarized public and private debate in our country today.

They will bring their acute, common sense perspectives to the issues of the day and how we move forward in America in the spirit of civility, even when we disagree.

It should prove to be a lively evening in the spirit of Thomas Jefferson's quote: "We are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it!"
