UTRGV SBIRT Student Training-Edinburg
Fri, March 31, 2017, 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM CDT
Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based practice used to identify, reduce, and prevent problematic use, abuse, and dependence on alcohol and illicit drugs. This training session has been developed for UTRGV students in health-related majors as a means to teach how to conduct substance use screenings, engage patients using Motivational Interviewing, and referring patients to appropriate substance abuse treatment. This is for both Graduate and Undergraduate students, however only current UTRGV students may attend.
