Event description

Description

Join us as we learn techniques on clearing land with the help of livestock. The use of livestock to clear land eradicates weeds and invasive species and prevents individuals from having to use heavy machinery or chemicals to do so. Ben and Rachael of Wild Harmony will discuss how each species plays a role in the clearing of the land and the benefits of utilizing livestock instead of other methods.

Wild Harmony Farm is a diverse livestock and poultry farm in Exeter that was founded in 2012. The farm focuses on environmental stewardship and hosts turkeys, chickens, beef cattle, dairy sheep and pigs.An intensive rotational grazing system is used on the farm to maximize the health of the animals and the land. The land also contains a 2 acre orchard, 1/10 of an acre of vegetables, honey bees and maple syrup trees.
