Event description

Imagine visiting the majestic walls of Zion National Park, the mysterious hoodoos of Bryce Canyon and the stunning pink sands of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park during early summer, when the desert is at its most beautiful.

This workshop will immerse you and a small group of participants in the art of landscape and night skies photography in Southwestern Utah. We’ll take advantage of the area’s dark night skies and stunning sunrises and sunsets as we explore Bryce Canyon, Zion and Coral Pink Sand Dunes!

You'll stay three nights in the charming town of Kanab, Utah, located in the heart of Southwestern Utah within close proximity to three national parks and a wide variety of other incredible natural areas. When you’re not shooting or in class, you can stroll Kanab’s heartwarming main street, or explore the desert’s mysteries on your own.

The workshop begins the evening of June 4th with a dinner reception in Kanab and will allow you to get to know the photographers and instructors on our workshop. From there, we will begin exploring the desert through the lens of your camera. Be prepared to walk up to a quarter mile on uneven surfaces to get to each shoot location.

Tamron USA will have their full complement of lenses available to loan out to you for the entire program, including their award-winning 15-30 (FX and DX in Canon, Nikon, and Sony mounts). National Park Trips Media (an Authorized Permittee of the National Park Service) and Tamron USA have teamed up to offer the National Park Photography Workshop series in several national parks across the Western US in 2019.
