Join award-winning photographer Rick Friedman for a day devoted solely to learning about speedlights. This interactive workshop is designed for those who want a basic knowledge of their external flash and as an introduction to using your speedlight properly.
Rick will teach you the different basic techniques to properly use your flash, starting with a description of how flashes work, what some of the basic modes on the flash are and what they do. He will discuss how to set your camera and flash together to create different dynamic looks, while briefly discussing the different modifiers that can be used. Consider this course as an introduction to Rick's popular Location Lighting Workshops.
Rick has taught this workshop in cities across the US and in the UK over the last 10 years. Rick’s clients include: Time, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, New York Times, der Spiegel, The Guardian and many other publications. Rick teaches with both Nikon and Canon strobes.
