Using the iPad as an Instructional Tool for English Language Arts (Grades K-12)
This workshop focuses on opportunities for iPad use in English Language Arts instruction. Participants will explore free and paid apps that include eBook readers (iBooks, Overdrive), interactive books, and PDF file readers (PaperPort Notes, Good Reader). They will examine apps to support word work and the writing process, such as idea map/outline creators. They will also learn how to use apps such as Pages, Evernote, and Google for word processing and digital publishing.
Kristine Scharaldi is an experienced teacher and outstanding staff developer in the area of technology integration in K-12 classrooms, who is back to Kean by popular demand.
Kristine’s workshops will be held from 8:30-2:00 in Hutchinson Hall Room 307-308 at the Kean University, Union Campus. A continental breakfast will be served and participants may bring a brown bag lunch.
We strongly encourage registrants to “bring your own device” (BYOD), but some iPads are available, if needed. Note that workshop sessions are limited to 20-25 registrants to allow for ongoing interactive hands-on experiences.
