Using technology and apps for person centered planning and transition supports
Jordan Jankus, Westchester ARC
In order to successfully transition from the protective world of high school to the outside adult world, it’s important that youth with developmental disabilities let the world know who they are, what they are good at, what they need help with and what sort of dreams that have about their future. Everyday technology, from laptops to smartphones and tablets, can help with this task, from basic and informative PowerPoint presentations about themselves to specific apps that are targeted to convey that information.
