Description

Using Lime: A Technical Workshop on Lime and Mortars

Join us on April 29-May 1, 2019 in Natchitoches Louisiana for a workshop on the technical aspects of limes and mortars used in historic preservation! The National Center for Preservation Technology and Training and its partners will hold a three-day workshop focusing on understanding and selecting the right lime for repairs to historic structures originally constructed with lime mortars.

The goal of the workshop is to educate conservators, masons, maintenance professionals, contracting officials, and decision makers on different types of limes available in the United States and discuss their strengths, weaknesses, and uses in historic masonry repairs.

The three-day workshop will be offered to a maximum of 30 participants. Learning activities will include lectures, demonstrations, and field/lab sessions. The registration fee will be $299 per person.
