Using Investment and True Cost Accounting as Levers for Food Systems Change
Event Information
About this event
The food system is unhealthy, unsustainable, and inequitable, creating more costs than it creates in economic value. Over the past fifty years, changes in the food system have led to significant advancements in food security. However, these changes, which prioritized yield and calories, have created a USD 9 trillion global food system that generates negative health, environmental, and equity externalities estimated at USD 19.8 trillion. This session (in person and streaming) will explore investment and True Cost Accounting (TCA) as powerful tools that can redirect capital flows toward food systems that are nourishing, regenerative, and equitable. Panelists will discuss the importance of investment and TCA and what it will take to unlock their power to propel transformed food systems.
NOTE: There are still tickets remaining! To participate virtually or in person, please register HERE.
