Wet Blankets: Using a trauma Informed and brain science approach to de-escalation

About this Event

Comedian Flip Wilson said “What you see is what you get!” While this may be the case in much of life, it certainly is not when it comes to a person whose brain is out of their control due to having been triggered. All too often, what the behavioral health professional sees is a symptom/result of a the brain doing what it is supposed to do in such a situation yet they are not trained in a trauma informed approach and how trauma and other brain injuries can effect one’s ability to manage their triggers. Come learn about the ins and out of how the trauma informed approach and brain science can increase your skills in de-escalation.
