Event Details

Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and the Interagency Council for Ending the Achievement Gap invite Alliance Districts, Commissioner’s Network Schools and their Community Partners to learn how to use school linked services to reduce chronic absenteeism by developing strong community partnerships.

Why this issue is important:

  • Chronic absence is associated with lower academic performance, leading to achievement gaps and fewer students graduating from high school on time and college- and career-ready.
  • School-linked services are among the most eff ective strategies for engaging community partners to meet students’ needs, including ensuring that they are in school every day.

Alliance Districts, Commissioner’s Network Schools and their Community Partners are encouraged to attend this special event as a team. Participants will engage in dynamic interactive discussion, explore available resources, and learn how to engage partners to address overall student success including chronic absenteeism in their schools.
