Using 3D Imaging Technology for Change Detection of Buildings, Bridges, and...
Mon, July 3, 2017, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM MST
This camp will offer hands-on experiences of using a 3D laser scanner (like a 3D camera), 3D imageries of bridges/buildings and job sites for students to explore 3D imageries for understanding spatial changes of bridges, building facilities, and job sites.
We have designed a 3-6 hour educational module for high school kids who are interested in imaging and civil engineering. That education module has two parts: 1) 2-3 hours of indoor introduction about 3D laser scanning and change analysis of buildings and bridges; 2) 1-3 hours of outdoor experiments with the laser scanner for imaging CAVC building on campus, and students compete with each other about the image quality and data collection time.
