USGBC Redwood Empire will host the fourth daylong forestry tour!
Join advocates from our region for one full day for a tour in the woods, to come together in support of healthy, sustainable forestry.

Our vast network of champions will tour the forest to learn the strength and breadth of the importance of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). Leave the tour with a renewed sense of purpose and understanding of local sustainable forestry, and the positive impact it makes on our community!
Relax and enjoy bus transportation from Santa Rosa (with a roadside break) to the Ukiah forest.
Walk through mature second-growth and third-growth redwood forests
Visit an active logging site in the redwood forest and learn from registered practicing foresters about the sustainable practices of Mendocino and Humboldt Redwood Companies.
See creek restoration activities including several bridges that were built to replace culverts and enable fish passage
Discuss Mendocino's reforestation projects and redwood ecology and the science of cultivating redwood for planting at their hedge farm
Make a stop at Miller Ridge to enjoy panoramic views of the forestlands
Lunch is included. The tour will conclude at the offices of Mendocino Redwood Company. Attendees will discuss the day's experience with foresters and company management along with refreshments.
Meet at the east parking lot of 55 Mission Circle! We will leave promptly at 7:30am. Carpooling is encouraged.
7:30am: Departure to begin tour
Mid-day: Lunch will be provided
5:00-5:30pm: Return to Santa Rosa

Mendocino and Humboldt Redwood Companies have over 440,000 acres of timber land and is managing all of it to the Forest Stewardship Council standards (FSC, a global nonprofit recognized as the gold standard in Forest certification) also the only certification accepted in LEED for material resource credit.
