When it comes to your utility bill, you may be spending more than you want to. Join USGBC for an interactive presentation with Larissa Johnson, the Residential Energy Program Manager for Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection, and learn how you can save energy, lower your utility costs, and keep money in your pocket.
This Connect and Learn will provide tips and strategies for homeowners and tenants across the region. It will also provide information on specific state and County resources, including the EmPower Maryland programs and the Montgomery County Energy Connection.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Understand the difference between energy conservation and efficiency and have examples to demonstrate.
2. Evaluate the different ways to conserve energy in different contexts.
3. Learn five ways to lower utility costs in the home.
4. Learn three ways municipalities commonly encourage and support residents to save energy, with examples from Montgomery County.
5. Understand their personal and professional role in energy conservation.
COST
This event is free for USGBC local community members with code, and $10 general admission.
