Introduction to the WELL Building Standard

Continuing Education: 1.5 GBCI CEUs for LEED Accredited Professionals, AIA credit

This program is appropriate for architects, specifiers, professional engineers, building owners, building managers, corporate accounts and building inspectors. This program is basic and meets the needs of professionals at every experience level.

Presenter: Monica Rokicki-Guajardo, LEED AP BD+C, EBO+M, BPI, WELL AP, HHE

Course Description:

WELL…now what?

Another certification? Don’t we have enough with LEED? This presentation will show why a 180 degree re-orientation to a building occupant perspective - focusing on indoor health and well-being - is the perfect corollary to build a truly sustainable building. We’ll take a look at the new WELL Building Standard from Delos, as well as an emerging standard focusing on existing homes, the Healthy Home Evaluation from the Building Performance Institute. Attendees will gain insights into the ways that we can measure and verify the benefits of green building and indoor quality, the ways these benefits map onto the human body and mind, and some pragmatic ways to start thinking about these insights in your own home, workplace and practice.
