Description

Huguenot High School Before and After: Measuring the Green Building Benefits

When: Tuesday, May 23rd

4 pm registration

415-5 pm tour

Huguenot High School provides a unique opportunity to study the benefits of green building strategies because a new high school was built on the same site (next door to the existing high school) and the same student population moved right in. Key metrics were measured in both buildings for a “before and after” snapshot that provides a comparative analysis highlighting the benefits of the green building strategies employed in the new building. This presentation will provide a forum to discuss these metrics in the context of Huguenot High School, explore ways similar concepts could be applied to other schools, and offer the opportunity to tour the school building. The presentation and tour will be led by Stephen Halsey, AIA, Project Manager with Moseley Architects and Bryna Dunn, LEED Fellow, Director of Sustainability Planning and Design with Moseley Architects.

Speakers: Stephen Halsey, AIA, Moseley Architects

Bryna Dunn, LEED Fellow

Fee: $10 for USGBC GVA members and students; $25 for nonmembers
