The public sector has the second highest number of LEED certifications in the state of Georgia. The need for resilience in Georgia is higher than ever before. This project showcase will feature public sector buildings that incorporate equity, health, and sustainability to drive the impact of well-being on public spaces for all.

Southface Institute promotes sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance.
As Director of Technical Services, Laura provides leadership and technical expertise for programs that support Southface’s mission to drive our communities towards a regenerative economy, responsible resource use and social equity through a healthy built environment for all.
The Technical Services Team provides green building certification services, building audits, HERS Rater Providership, and sustainability planning for commercial and residential buildings and communities.
Laura’s experience prior to Southface includes construction project management, providing campus design standards and campus planning for clients including the State of Georgia and Emory University. Over the past ten years, Laura has focused on Sustainability and LEED Consulting for commercial and government buildings, volume retail, and school campuses and certifying over 60 LEED projects. Laura holds a degree in Civil Engineering.
Amy serves as a Senior Team Leader & Senior Sustainability Consultant and Reviewer in the Epsten Group Certifications Department. With a background in architecture and city planning specifically focusing on health, she has over 10 years of sustainable design experience, as well as over 4 years of experience in city and regional planning. Currently, Amy leads a team of sustainability consultants which review projects based on sustainable rating systems to promote sustainable design practices that optimize the built environment. Her areas of expertise include new construction, core and shell, and schools projects across several rating systems, such as LEED, WELL, WELL Health-Safety Rating, Parksmart, TRUE, SITES, Living Building Challenge, and Fitwel. As a Sustainability Consultant, Amy also develops, manages, and coordinates project team efforts to implement and document strategies and project performance for projects undergoing sustainability efforts. Furthermore, as a Performance Testing Agent, Amy verifies that the environmental parameters impacting occupants’ health and well-being are achieved and provides assurance that the building meet the design conditions and is performing as intended.
Leonard Morrow is credentialed as a WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP) via The WELL Building Standard (WELL)-a dynamic rating system for buildings, interior spaces and communities seeking to implement, validate and measure features that support and advance human health and wellness. Leonard will work with commercial real estate developers and property owners to employ the WELL green building framework and enhance facility performance for human health and the environment. Leonard also implements organizational Green Purchasing Programs with products that use life cycle analysis and third party certification (i.e., Environmental Product Declarations). These tools enable him to furnish the trust and transparency sought by design professionals tasked with forming sustainable building standards programs and procurement directors who must merge corporate social responsibility with sustainable purchasing strategy.??

Tim oversees environmental and social sustainability at the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), which comprises the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the former Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, and the Savannah Convention Center. Since 2010, he has focused on improving operations, reducing the impact of events, and increasing the benefit of the organization to the community. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he led the GWCC in becoming the largest LEED Gold certified convention center in the world and was influential in the LEED Platinum certification of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a Master’s degree from Arizona State University.
