Event description

Description

The heart of the green building community's efforts must go beyond construction, efficiency, and materials to focus on the most important part of the building: human beings. To design a better world, we have to look at life through someone else's lens, ask questions of people who don't look like us, don't live where we live, don't experience everything the same way we do. We have to listen, and we have to share stories.

Join us on August 20th at Manuel's Tavern where Meaghan Kennedy and Shelby Buso', will lead a conversation around storytelling, community engagement, and increase our understanding by sharing about the Living Standard and “What Is Your Story?” We'll also talk more about the idea behind Greenbuild's theme, a New Living Standard, and how we can each share stories that truly reflect and embody sustainability for all. Come with your stories, thoughts, ideas, questions, and curiosity - you are a part of the conversation!

Are you bored with panel presentations? Do you want to expand your knowledge and your network? Then USGBC’s sustainability salons are the place for you. These multidisciplinary gatherings focuses on new ideas, powerful questions, and hot topics to discuss, debate, learn, and inspire. We invite you to tell us more about you in the registration, and welcome you to be a discussion leader at the salon.
