Event description

Description

Join the Metro Education Committee on this informative tour of Denver Water’s Operations Complex.

The complex is in the midst of a redevelopment project to provide a more efficient, publicly accessible and sustainable headquarters. The goal is to build a modern site that improves the efficiency, functionality, security and safety of all operations. Phase One of the project is complete with the new Fleet Services, Meter Shop, Trades and Warehouse buildings fully operational.

Learn about the LEED design process and credits that were part of Phase One of the project and tour the operational facilities. The new Administration Building will be the gem of Phase Two, featuring on-site waste water treatment, wellness strategies, and renewable energy. Ambient Energy, the project’s LEED consultant, will be on hand to discuss how credits are being applied to the design and construction process while taking into account Denver Water’s unique campus requirements.

*This course has been approved for 1 GBCI Continuing Education Credit

Who we will hear from:

Kate Taft, Sustainability Manager, Denver Water

Originally from the west coast, Kate has a Bachelor’s of Science from University of Oregon, and a Masters of Environmental Science and Sustainability from California State University, Chico.
