Event description
This course meets the NYS and USCG requirements for PWC Operation, youth and adult boating safety certification.

This course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of Safe boating operation. Taught by state certified instructors using Materials approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators. This class includes the following topics:

  1. Accidents & Emergencies
  2. Boats & Motors
  3. Boating Related Activities
  4. Boat Operations
  5. Seamanship
  6. Equipment
  7. Fueling & Ventilation
  8. Marine Environment
  9. Navigation
  10. Numbering & Registration
  11. Preparation for getting Underway
  12. Personal Watercraft (PWC)
  13. Rules of the Road
  14. Safe Loading and Powering

Upon successful completion of the course a temporary certificate valid for 90 will be issued. Adults 18yrs of age or older must mail a $10 fee to NYS Parks for a permanent certification card. There is no $10 fee to get the permanent card for children between 10 - 17 yrs of age.
